I didn't go around the mountain (ATM) at all last year. Let's not repeat that mistake! There are a few mud/slush spots on the dirt road, but the stream in Las Huertas Canyon is running and there should be plentiful flowers and birds. The route in general is the normal one to the end of the pavement above Placitas, then up the dirt NM 165 to Balsam Glade Campground, optionally out and back to Sandia Crest, and finally back to AOS via Tijeras Canyon (Gutierrez optional) and Tramway. A link to the route on Ride with GPS is [here](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/34235760).
This is a long and hard ride. It will not be sagged or swept. You should embark on this only if you can do it all by yourself! That said, I hope to see you there!
