NMTS Ride Schedule

NOTE: In addition to these one time rides, the club has recurring rides most days of the week. To view them, choose the "Weekly Rides" link in the menu at your left.

Pace is the speed, plus or minus one, that will be maintained on flat terrain with no wind. Distance refers to miles traveled in a day; on multi-day rides it refers to total miles for the trip, and a daily average is calculated from that.

HELMETS CSPC, Snell or ANSI Approved Helmets are REQUIRED for all NMTS rides.
EBIKES Class 1 E-bikes are welcome where conditions allow, and at the ride leader's discretion. Class 2 and Class 3 E-bikes are not permitted on NMTS rides.

Mountainair Meander, All Paces, Minor Hills, 58 miles. Meet at the intersection of NM 41 and NM 55, which is on the south edge of Estancia, NM. To get to Estancia, head to Moriarty on I-40; turn south at exit 196, which is NM 41, and drive south 17 miles to reach Estancia.

The route goes west on NM 55 to the first rest stop at about mile 13 at Ray’s One Stop in the little town of Tajique, NM. From there, we stay on NM 55 as it turns south, passing through Torreon, Manzano, and Punta de Agua, reaching Mountainair at about mile 35. Lunch in Mountainair at

the restaurant in the historic Shaffer Hotel, which is on Main Street, one block south of the intersection of NM 55 and US 60. The restaurant has its original Pueblo Indian / Art Deco interior from when the hotel was built in the 1920s. After lunch, we head east on US 60, then turn north on NM 41 for the last 11 miles back to Estancia.

Carpools can be set up from the Smith’s at Tramway and Central, leaving no later than 8:00 AM. The specific route is available at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37624040 .
