This Ride is being conducted in accordance with the NMTS Club Rides During Pandemic document that is available on the NMTS website homepage.
This is the classic circumnavigation of the Sandia Mountains, starting at Alameda Open Space and proceeding to Placitas, then up to Balsam Glade and Sandia Crest itself, and finally returning via Gutierrez Rd, Old US 66 through Tijeras Canyon, and Tramway Blvd. Full mileage requires both the Crest up-and-back and the Gutierrez (vs. N 14) return route, but you can leave out those bits if you'd like, do the route backwards, or even just do an out-and-back to the end of the pavement in Placitas. Any ride you like, on this route, is fine with us. Please send Greg your mileage by the end of the day!
